Our dedicated Board of Directors is comprised of the home building industry’s leaders in their respective fields. We strive to plan and deliver timely and relevant programming to our industry peers to advance knowledge and provide a productive environment for mentoring and networking. SAGE Awards Committee Chair

Marissa currently serves as the Director of Marketing & Communications for Jamboree Housing Corporation, a nonprofit housing development company that develops, acquires, renovates, and manages permanently affordable rental housing throughout California for working families, seniors, and people with special needs. Marissa is passionate about building meaningful relationships, mentorship, lifelong learning, music, affordable housing, and interdisciplinary approaches to improving our communities. Her focus at Jamboree Housing is to drive the communication strategy that will contribute to the fulfillment of Jamboree’s mission to create high quality affordable housing and services that transform lives and strengthen communities.

 

Vice President – Melissa Auten – melissa@unscriptedinteriors.com

Melissa Auten has over 25 years of marketing and business development experience. Her professional career soared during her time at the Auto Club of Southern California, AAA’s, largest affiliate club, where she held multiple marketing and business development positions culminating as the Advertising Director for Westways Magazine. She led multi-function teams that created successful ad sales, tradeshow experiences, and uniformed customer service touch points within their retail stores. She then transitioned into a position in the Building Industry Association of Southern California where she collaborated with members on countless campaigns to promote the benefits of buying new homes. From there, BIA member companies Sub-Zero Wolf and most recently Fisher & Paykel appliances, tapped into Melissa’s broad knowledge of homebuilding for the opening of their new showrooms and direct builder sales.

 

 

Secretary – Rian Graber – rgraber@zondahome.com

Rian Graber is an Advisory Manager for Zonda Home with a legal background, as well as residential, mixed use and retail experience. She has been involved in the real estate industry since 2006. Rian’s experience includes due diligence, entitlement, and product programming for community developers and home builders. She has analyzed plans for age-targeted and age-qualified communities and individual project resale data to identify trends in pricing and sales volume, recommended diversified product programs and amenities for planned communities, and conducted market analysis for new homes.

 

Treasurer – Valerie Hardman – vhardman@outdoordimensions.com

Valerie Hardman is the vice president of sales and client relations for Outdoor Dimensions, a full service signage company that has served the real-estate and building industry for 48 years. Valerie also serves as vice president of councils for the BIASC’s Governing Board, as well as the Board of Directors of the Orange County BIA. She is past president and continues to serve on the boards of the Council on SAGE and the Greater Sales and Marketing Council of Southern California. Valerie is a proud recipient of the B.J. Stewart Women’s Achievement Award, the A.Gary Anderson Memorial Associate of Excellence Award and the Gwen Roseberry Award for her service to the BIA of Orange County. She also received the President’s Award from the Senior Housing Council, and was awarded the Volunteer of the Year award from the Sales and Marketing Council and the 55+ Housing Council.

 

Gina Nixon – gnixon@tjhusa.com

Gina serves as Executive Vice President, Marketing at Thomas James Homes, leading her team in neighborhood design and development, market and consumer research and analysis, sales management, brand architecture and management, and more. She has previously held senior-level positions with regional and national builders and land developers, including eight years as Vice President of Marketing at Newland Communities. Over the course of her 30-year career, Gina has demonstrated success in strategic planning and sales and marketing as well as the real estate range to cover high-density, mixed-use projects to major master-planned communities and low density, single-family housing. She launched a new brand for Thomas James Homes in 2019. She’s affiliated with the Urban Land Institute, National Association of Home Builders and the Building Industry Association. She also served as President of The Council on SAGE (Shaping Advancements in Generational Environments) and has been a board member since 2009. In October 2021, Gina was awarded the BJ Stewart Women’s Achievement Award by the BIASC.

SAGE Programs Co-Chair
Dave Pintar is the Director of Project Development for CW Driver, a general contractor specializing in planning and construction. Dave is responsible for developing new business, client and industry relations, and business planning. He has been in the real estate and construction industry for more than 34 years, and began his career as a project engineer, working in operations, as well as geotechnical and material engineering, business development, and later in construction lending and risk management. Dave received his bachelor of science degree in Construction Management from California State University, Long Beach.

Ann Brozey is the Marketing Manager for Rancho Mission Viejo Co. She has a total of 25+ years in the real estate industry, which include both MPC and multi-family property management experience. Her current responsibilities include directly supporting the RMV Marketing department by managing and coordinating various marketing initiatives for future communities currently in development.

 

Cassie Cherry, LEED AP – ccherry@danielian.com

As Director of Marketing & Client Relations for Danielian Associates, Cassie Cherry provides strategic marketing direction, trends analysis, brand management, and oversees business development opportunities throughout the organization.  With over 15 years of experience in marketing within the homebuilding industry, she leads the team’s efforts to strengthen commitment to vision and core values, improve client engagement, create consistency across all marketing channels, and grow brand awareness.  

A frequent speaker at industry conferences, Cassie received her bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences from the University of California at Irvine and maintains active involvement in NAHB, CBIA, ULI, and BIA.

Felesia Dailey is a licensed mortgage originator at Simple Reverse Lending. She provides professional financial services, specializing in financing the purchase and refinance of residential mortgages for the 62+ individuals. Felesia focuses on educating her clients in HECM for purchase home-buying process as well as HECM refinancing for those who want to age in place. Felesia thrives on customer service by staying up to date on the latest complexities of the senior mortgage lending changes and new technology in the industry, Felesia has become a vital resource for homeowners and Realtors alike. To ensure both homeowners and realtor clients feel comfortable and at ease with the entire mortgage process, she works closely with each one from the application to the closing.

Shaun Guertin is Associate Director of Project Development for W.E. O’Neil Construction. With over 30 years of experience in the construction industry, Shaun guides the development of new projects and manages business opportunities throughout California in the senior living, hospitality, mixed-use and entertainment sectors. Shaun began his career in the masonry and concrete trades until achieving his ultimate passion of  “Building Great Relationships” in our industry.  He is a solution-oriented professional who excels in building and strengthening relationships with clients, architects, and management team members. In his free time, Shaun enjoys golfing, surfing and being with friends… He is also the founder of The Golden Years Foundation, a charity focused on raising money for underprivileged senior citizens.

Michael Stone has always had an interest and passion for designing things and understanding how they go together. A Cal Poly San Luis Obispo grad with a Bachelor of Architecture degree and minors in Construction Management and Sustainable Environments, he has been with Bassenian Lagoni for more than 10 years. A licensed architect, Michael oversees a team of designers to generate creative solutions to complex design challenges. As an experienced project manager, Michael provides leadership to his team and project management to clients. He is skilled in interpreting housing in all its forms for home buyers at all life stages. Michael is active in the home building industry, lending his talents to committees and boards at the local, state and national level.

Principal/Director Of Marketing

Robin is a passionate and talented professional who is highly respected throughout Southern California’s homebuilding and A-E-C industry.  Robin oversees the marketing, public relations and business development activities of all four Fuscoe offices in Irvine, San Diego, Los Angeles and Ontario. She continually reinforces the Fuscoe brand with her innovative marketing solutions and strategic client support.  Being named to the Council on SAGE’s Board of Directors brings Robin full circle: she was one of its founding board members and also earned SAGE’s President’s Award. Robin has received numerous industry accolades, including BIASC’s B. J. Stewart Women’s Achievement Award. She is currently a HomeAid Los Angeles Board Member and involved in ULI OC/IE’s Women’s Leadership Initiative Council.  Robin also generously makes time for organizations that benefit the community, including Families Forward, HomeAid Los Angeles and Child Creativity Lab.

 

Doug Pancake – dougp@pancakearchitects.com

Douglas Pancake has developed an expertise in supportive and therapeutic architectural design for individuals with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementia and has been involved in numerous projects and research activities. While completing his Master of Architecture at the University of Arizona, College of Architecture, Doug received private grant funding from The Fountains Companies for a program to develop a social model Alzheimer care facility. Doug received his Bachelor of Art degree in Architecture from the University of New Mexico and his Bachelor of Architecture and Master of Architecture degrees from the University of Arizona. Doug has completed The Johns Hopkins School of Business postgraduate certificate program in the NIC – Business of Senior Housing program. In addition, Doug is a Certified Eden Associate.

Doug has been involved in a state-funded research project where the functional competencies of residents living in an Alzheimer Care Facility, of his own design, were observed under multiple environmental conditions. Doug is also working with CDPH and OSHPD in developing the Household Model SNF Building Code. Doug actively participates in the California Office of State Fire Marshall, RCFE Code Advisory Committee. Most importantly, Doug is credited with leading the evolution of senior housing and care design, and with enhancing the lifestyles and the well-being of thousands of elders across the United States.

 

Stephanie Lucero – slucero@hpiarchitecture.com

Stephanie Lucero brings her insightful and fresh approach to planning and design with a focus on dignity, comfort, and quality of life for senior living. Stephanie has over 18 years of professional experience in design, construction documentation, project management and construction administration, ranging from Senior housing, healthcare, military, education and residential design. As a licensed Architect and Director at HPI Architecture, Stephanie has led the team for several ground up communities as well as renovations and modernizations that include Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Memory Care in California and Arizona. She has worked closely with clients like Alliance Residential, Sunrise Senior Living, Five Star Senior Living, and Steadfast Companies to create vibrant environments where older adults thrive in living spaces.

Manju Pai is the founder of StudioPi2 Architects, leading a talented team of designers. Manju has over 25 years’ experience in the architecture field. She is a licensed architect in CA and India, a LEED accredited professional, a member of the AIA, BIA, ULI and TIE.  Prior to establishing her design studio in Irvine, Manju owned a successful design studio in Mumbai, India. Her diverse experience includes urban design, mixed used, multi-family residential, elderly care facilities and Interior Architecture.  She brings her international experience and her own unique perspective to her designs. In her spare time, Manju volunteers for Akshaya Patra Foundation (provides over 2 million meals per day for school children in India) and golfs.
